Communication is an important part of any project. Satellite TV and High-Speed Internet Access that we depend on at work and home will be made available for use by the film crew on the road using state-of-the-art communications equipment. There are several satellite systems on the market to chose from. Ideally, this mobile studio should feature a completely self-contained, Satellite system which would automatically identify, acquire, and track satellite signals from a range of DVB-compatible satellites.

Combined with Satellite TV, this high-speed Internet systems makes Internet access for business or vital information available to our video TEAM wherever and whenever they will need it.

NOTE: President Bush signed an Executive Order on Critical Infrastructure Protection on October 17, 2001. As the California Center for Military History is a part of the California State Military Reserve empowered by the California Legislature to provide homeland defense and internal security, in the event of a state emergency, these vehicles could be called upon to serve as emergency communication and command centers for the California State Military Department, providing support to California National Guard units deployed during earthquakes, fires and other emergencies. DataStorm by Ground Control is a fully automatic Mobile Internet System that allows you to access the Internet (and DirecTV) at high-speed with your personal computer or laptop anywhere your truck or RV is parked, provided you have an unobstructed view of the Southern Sky. The DataStorm achieves download speeds of 400 Mbps with bursts at 1.7 Mbps. This is faster than T1 speeds! It will allow the user to download a 1 MegaByte file in about 10 seconds. Upload speeds are between 30 to 90 Kbps (twice as fast as a 56K modem. The DataStorm is also capable, with the Network Access Point from Ground Control, of networking up to 50 computer systems thus enabling conversion of the system into a mobile command center. DataStorm also is cabable of utilizing wireless technology.
